![]() Who knows, maybe in the original timeline Rittenhouse made Lucy's mom sick because she gave birth to her sister and then threatened to strand Lucy in the past if her mom ever tried to tell her about Rittenhouse. In order for THAT particular future to occur in order for the "ideal timeline" that Future Lucy came from to actually exist, then all of the incursions into the past from the future and all their changes and all the events tied to those changes had to happen. The future had to occur in order for the past to take place: Retroactive Causality/Bootstrap Paradox. If she hadn't have shown up then Flynn would've exposed himself sooner and he'd be dead in a ditch and the timeline would've continued on as normal with Lucy's mom dieing etc etc.maybe.īut Future Lucy showed up anyways, why? Because if she didn't then the original timeline would've blinked out and ceased to exist the night that Flynn got that Journal because so many incursions into the past from the unwritten future HAD TO HAPPEN in order for that night to even occur in the first place. Flynn survives and now has REAL motivation to go after them but he doesn't have the means until Future Lucy gives him the Journal. So they try to have him and his family killed just like they've done hundreds of times in the past.but that's not the end of it. Flynn is just another guy snooping around in places where he shouldn't and finding things he shouldn't have found. So Connor Mason builds a time machine and they're all "Finally we get to assume total control!" and at this point Flynn is just a blip on their radars. ![]() The radicals and the revolutionaries that kept overhauling their systems or finding them out or just ruining their plans.hence their strong interest in time travel. So in the original timeline Rittenhouse was probably just a slow moving secret society that slowly gained power over time but as time went on, we were told that the started losing more and more of that power to folks that they did see coming. Rittenhouse is literally like cancer and just as hard to get rid of. ![]() Hell for all we know Lucy's grandfather double crossed her and Rittenhouse found out about the time machine or maybe Rittenhouse has been gathering evidence of time travel over the years.put the pieces together.and prepped the redhead as their backup plan when the machine was created. Once she was retrieved then she could either reset the timeline again to put Rittenhouse back in action or convince others to do it for the "greater good". If you remember where she was then you'll know that she was totally out in the middle of nowhere.like the the middle of nowhere where no change to the timeline could ever EVER affect her, she was basically in a temporal safe spot. If the timeline ever changed to the point where they were wiped out or if something happened in the future that almost destroyed them so utterly and totally.then they could just swipe the time machine and go back to get her. She was their ace in the hole, Rittenhouse always knew where/when she was and they kept her there as another backup plan. But can this handpicked team uncover the mystery behind it all and end his destruction before it's too late? While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive. Our only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor, who must use the machine's prototype to travel back in time to critical events.
